Deep-clean an HDB before handover without losing your weekend

A room-by-room checklist for kitchens, bathrooms, and built-ins so you hand over keys with confidence in Singapore.

Start high and work down: ceiling fans, cabinet tops, then surfaces, then floors last. In Singapore’s humidity, dust and cooking oil settle quickly—wet-wiping too early often just pushes grime into corners you will miss at inspection.

Kitchen: degrease the range hood filter, wipe backsplash grout while oil is soft, and pull appliances slightly forward to catch crumbs along the sides. Bathroom: acid-safe cleaner on shower tracks, squeegee glass, and check silicone seals around the basin for mould.

Living areas: vacuum along skirting and inside sliding door tracks. If you are exiting a lease, photograph each room after cleaning and keep disposal receipts if you cleared bulky items—both save disputes later.

Book rubbish disposal early on peak weekends, keep windows open for an hour after heavy chemical use, and line up a final walk-through buffer so you are not rushing on handover morning.
